Join Leah and Jen for a summer Satsang in Taos, New Mexico on the intersection between science, kintsugi, spiritual practice, and endeavoring to explore what it means to live your practice. On this 6-day / 5-night retreat we will practice Bhakti vinyasa, slow flow, and yin yoga. There will be special workshops embedded in the scheduling on topics of devotion, ayurveda, the science of being well, and a hands-on kintsugi workshop.

About the Property
The San Geronimo Lodge is a 100-year-old restored adobe building — not only a beautiful and rare example of historic Taos architecture, but also an optimal structure for natural climate control. Hyperslow Retreat Center is only a 2-mile walk from both the trailheads of the Kit Carson National Forest and from the Plaza in downtown Taos. A few bicycles are available for use by retreat guests in warm and dry weather. Pool is open in the summer.
Taos is a land of beauty and grace. Plan to take a hike, explore the Pueblo, watch the sunrise from the ski lifts, or watch the sunset from the hot springs. There are many wonderful local shops, farmer’s market, and restaurants just a short bike ride to town, as well.
Outdoor activities can be enjoyed year-round, including hiking, water rafting, natural hot springs, skiing, and snowshoeing. July is the warmest month of the year in Taos with an average high of 83°F and low of 51°F. Time zone is Mountain Standard Time (MST).

Daily Yoga Classes — appropriate for all levels
Ayurvedic Workshop — learn food and lifestyle principles of yoga’s sister science. Ahara: seasonal nutrition for summer. Vihara: aligning with the rhythms and cycles of the summer/fire.
Anatomy & Physiology of Being Well Workshop — experiential and ideal for anyone craving a healing, soothing experience. You can expect a blend of lecture and practice including calming breath work, you will leave with an embodied understanding about how we can use the body to cultivate a sense of calm.
Kintsugi Workshop — the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold. A world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection—a way of living life with an authentic appreciation for the beauty to be found in what is, just as it is; wabi sabi.
Bhakti Kirtan — joining our voices and exploring one of the yoga traditions oldest practices: mantra meditation. Mantra practice is a simple yet deep path where we practice both deep listening and creating vibration in the throat using short phrases in Sanskrit.

Double occupancy suites are intended for you and a partner/friend to share — we can also do our best to pair solo travelers with a roommate. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms. For those seeking more privacy, nestle into your own room with a single bed and private bathroom. Each room is equipped with a mini fridge/freezer and Keurig.

Airports: The closest commercial airports are Santa Fe Airport (SAF), about 1 hour 30 minutes drive to Taos, and Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ), about 2 hours 30 minutes drive to Taos.
Check in — 3:00 p.m.
Check out — 11:00 a.m.Airport Shuttles: There is plenty to do close to the retreat center and you will have everything you need for an incredible experience without driving anywhere. Shuttle service from the airport to the retreat center can be arranged for an additional fee.
**Many people do choose to rent cars on BYC retreats and that is recommended if you want to explore the area. We can try to coordinate car rental shares with other retreat goers by request.

Please be sure you will be able to attend before you submit your deposit. All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Payment is due in full 90 days prior to the start of the retreat. If you cancel 90 days or more prior to the retreat start date, you will be issued a refund, less your $500 non-refundable deposit.
Trip insurance can protect your retreat investment if you need to cancel for covered circumstances. Due to retreat centers’ refund policies, we cannot offer any refunds, transfers or credits for cancellations for any reason within 90 days of the retreat start date. For yoga teachers and advanced training students attending this retreat, an available 18 continuing education credits are applicable towards your training hours with additional daily assignment and a post-retreat essay completion.

About Jen and Leah
Jen Lo loves to teach with devotion to enliven creativity. Her vinyasa classes incorporate Sanskrit chanting, functional asana sequencing, and practical application of yoga philosophy. She holds a deep reverence for Yoga as an Indian and South Asian practice with deep cultural traditions. In Jen's classes, one can expect a clear theme, accessible sequence, and opportunity for challenge—delivered with care and warmth.
Leah Adams weaves together many strands of ancient and modern knowledge — yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, holistic nutrition, and neuroscience — into her practice. Leah is a yoga teacher trainer, mindfulness facilitator and ongoing student of some of the world’s most masterful carriers of wisdom. Leah’s intention is to support others in discovering their own unique blend of effective, resonant modalities, as they walk the path toward sustainable nourishment, holistic vitality and balance. She offers retreats and training on Yin Yoga, functional breathwork, pranayama, meditation, and Ayurveda.
